ANNUAL
REPORT OF THE COMMUNITY CARE NETWORK
JANUARY 2013-DECEMBER 2014
Members: Bobbie Baker, Jean Ott, Rev. Margret O’Neall, Christine Derby-Cuadrado, Don, Shed, M.D. , Doug Sherman, Steve Wixson
The Joys & Concerns Table was moved to the Ferry Street Entrance. A beautiful bowl for the table was donated by Rebecca McCauley. As a result of moving the table and a new bowl, the committee has seen more people stopping at the table and lighting candles to acknowledge personal joys or concern. People also completed Joy or Concern Card which were read during the Pastoral Prayer.
The main focus of the committee is sending cards to church members who are experiencing a joy or concern. Nancy Bukaty writes and sends the majority of the cards. The committee also sends seasonal greetings to members who had a family member die in the past year, or members who are not able to attend services.Ginny Vaughan and Steve Wixson assist with this. Seasonal greetings are sent in an attempt to regain or maintain contact with members who are not able to participate in church activities because of significant health problems.
The Community Care Network has continued to provide flowers on the Sunday closest to the first day of spring. We encouraged people to take the flowers and share them with others.
