Welcome, from our Membership Coordinator
I am Christine, the Membership Coordinator here at the UUCB. It is a part-time position created by the UUCB and partially funded by a Chalice Lighter grant. The remainder of my salary not covered by the grant is funded by the UUCB. In 2015 the Annual Budget fully funds the position. I have worked in various capacities in the non-profit sector for over 20 years. In addition to my paid staff position we have a Director of Lifespan Education, an office manager, an accountant/office assistant, a Music Director and various maintenance support. We all work well together and have great team energy.
Since my position began a three years ago I have witnessed tremendous change in the church. In addition to the extensive search for a settled minister we have changed the way we govern ourselves, the way we develop leaders and our steps to membership (to reduce the revolving back door). We were one of 10 UU churches chosen by the UUA and EqUUal Access to be part of the two-year Disability/Ability Action Pilot Program. Without doubt our congregational mindset and language has expanded.
We are an extraordinary congregation to be able to largely embrace, with little reluctance, so much change in such a short time. We are eager to learn, grow and discover where we might create positive change. We are fun and like to laugh. We like to meet and eat together. We are beautifully diverse and we are trying to be more inviting and welcoming every day.
In my time here we have worked very hard to sow the seeds for our future. We are hopeful and look forward to witnessing the fruits of our labor. We are full of potential. I invite you to get to know us to see if being part of that, here at the UUCB, is your where your future lies.
Best wishes in all you seek.
Sincerely,
Christine Derby-Cuadrado
