Women’s Society Report
The Women's Society is growing. We now have 63 members, 10 of whom are men. We have had excellent attendance at our programs and this year we added a January program, which received the most attendance and rave reviews.
Our main project for this year will be the purchasing of new carpeting for the sanctuary. We have an ad hoc committee in place to assist with this work. This project was voted on and approved at our September meeting.
We also have some tentative plans for ways to improve the Women's Lounge so it can be better utilized by all for various church meetings.
Our next event will be our annual book sale which will be held at the end of February.
Our Fall program included Judge Tracy Kassman, Historian Susan Dietz, Dr. Loren Smith, director of the Audubon Society and a concert from our church pianist, Su Lee. For our Winter/ Spring program we have TV meteorologist Don Paul, Gladys Gifford the head of the waterfront-transportation committee, our own director of music at the UUCB, Dan Bassin and Kathryn Mang, director of a non-profit charity for women in Haiti. We will offer two wonderful field trips, in May is a day at the theatre in Niagara on the Lake and in June we will offer a special trolley tour of Forest Lawn Cemetery, the 'Art and Architectural" tour.
With the generous donations and help from our members, we were able to provide memorial service receptions.
Thank you for all your assistance and support.
